I can see only one effect of just feeding starving people. They provide even more of starving children.
If you really want to help and not just clear your conscience for a while (or rather pretend you clear it) you have two choices:

1. Provide education, infrastructure and other necessary means to teach people how to become independent from ongoing humanitarian aid.

2. Give away free contraception, otherwise people will keep making babies who'll become starving and will be vulnerable to different hard diseases, will probably be used and exploited as a cheap - or free - labor force, won't go to school, will have a very miserable life and completely no future. And if they live long enough they will make another babies who will experience all of that again. And so on, and so on it will be going through generations.

Yes... This is something I do not understand...
They are dying of hunger, and since they got nothing to do they say "hey, let's fuck!"
I REALLY don't get it.
And I hate when couples say "omg, we wanna have a baby!"

You have a point there. It is the system that has to be improved as a complex - education, teaching them farming etc. but mere talking doesn't help them either, so I support them because I dunno how else I could influence it.

Totally agreed. Stop putting a bandaid on the problem and get to the root of things. Even if overpopulation isn't the only factor in a situation such as famine, it sure as hell doesn't help. Discourage the creation of more mouths to feed until there is a sustainable amount of food for the mouths that already exist.
